Bronze paperweight, replica of a coin from the island of Aegina (6th century BC) with a turtle on the obverse and four hollow triangles on the reverse. The earliest Greek coinage was minted in Aegina, as the island enjoyed exceptional economic prosperity until the end of the archaic period, before its submission to Athens.
